France: Bacro reports on Buggy nats
here is my report of the race in Savigny.
Saturday morning the track is still damp and slippery. Testing began with the Cobra 2.0 car, also using the new rear end, but its was not easy to test first because the track was so tricky.
After the first test we changed the brackets from 10 degree to 12 degree Then we added the anti dive front and more rear anti squat. This second test was much better with a car that turns easy and quick and much faster than the first run. For more testing we decided to change from AKA City Beams to City Block..With these changes the car worked very well and I realize the 3rd best time.
For qualifications we keep the same settings as the free practise, but I made a lot of mistakes and a lack of concentration puts me in 24th only in the first round.
Second qualifying change rear camber up and regain control of myself. And we take the 13th place in round 2. Because two big mistake made in the beginning of qualification move us out of the top 10.
Third qualification no change on the car but a good run to get a 6th fastest time, putting me in 10th overall.
Sunday semi final with warmer weather, so we decide to increased shockoil with 50, and put super soft tires . Beginning of the final was tough with 2 big mistakes on the first lap, but the car worked very well and I came back to 4th in the semi final. Car worked supergood.
In the main final we started from 7th, but choose too hard tyres, medium instead of soft, so in the end took 4th position, just one lap out of the podium.
Still a good race and putting the Cobra buggy with new rear end geometry in the final again of the French nats. Last time was 2nd, now 4th, for sure we are close to the top and still improving !
My set-up here: savigny (1)
