NemoRacing race report

SRS Round 2, Swindon

Swindon was the host of the 2nd round of the 2013 SRS series, and is the odd one out in this series in that it's an AstroTurf track.

In the buggy class it was Kevin Brunsden who set the pace with his Piranha fuelled car to take the overall TQ. Agama driver Tony Truman was having his first run on dry AstroTurf with his Agama car and was gradually improving the set up throughout qualifying to the point where by round 3, he was pretty much on the pace of Kevin and feeling confident.

Just as the finals were about to get underway, the rains came and put everybody in a spin as to how to change the set ups of their cars.

Luke Walsham drove excellently after a bad start in the B final to book a place in the main final with team mate Tony. Luke had suffered tough runs in qualifying, but once he found his rhythm in the wet he was setting a cracking pace as he pulled through the field.
The main final saw Tony suffer a poor start with an error early that would prevent him challenging at the front. Tony battled back to 3rd and was running at the pace of the 2 leaders for the 2nd half of the race, but with too big a gap to pull back. Kevin Brunsden went on to take the win with Nathan Ralls 2nd and Tony 3rd.

In the Truggy class it was Agama domination, as Neil Sivins took a fantastic win in front of James Tatlow and Tony Bolwell to complete a podium lockout for the Agama A8T's. James also took a victory in the electric buggy class, although there was a dispute on the result as he bodyshell had come off late in the race but race control failed to call him into pit lane.
