Tekno RC race report

Tekno RC Sweeps DE/Panther Racing Spring Nationals Series

San Diego RC Raceway has been host to the 1st annual DE/Panther Racing Series this year and it has been a huge success.

Being based in San Diego, Tekno RC showed up in force. Barry Baker finished the series with a 1st place overall in both 1/8th Buggy and Pro4. Barry's EB48 and SCT410 were flawless for the series.

But Tekno RC drivers didn't stop there. Josh Bertrand and Pres Ilog continued the series podium sweep in 1/8th Buggy, finishing 1st and 2nd overall with their EB48's.

In Pro4 the results were similar and Tekno RC would claim the entire podium again. Pres Ilog finished 2nd place and Charles Dunn finished up the series in 3rd. All podium finishes were made with the Tekno RC SCT410.

We'd like to congratulate all of our drivers on their wins and thank San Diego RC Raceway for hosting the series.

1st Round of the Finnish Nationals

EuroRC team driver Petri Mylläri wins 1st Round of the Finnish Nationals, Turku, Finland

The first round of the Finnish National series was held this past weekend in Turku. The track was in excellent condition but considered difficult by many of the racers. With the snow going just a few weeks before the race many drivers had little preparation before the opening race however it was EuroRC team Driver Petri Mylläri who won ahead of August Poutiainen and Tomi Salonen. Below you will find Petri’s report from the event…

“I knew that this first race was going to be extremely hard for me. I haven’t raced anything in 6-7 months due to winter. I also have a new Losi 3.0 car, new engine, new tires, new servos and different everything from last season and I also used my new transmitter for the first time in this race. It took a little time and adjustments but luckily my Futaba 4pks-r transmitter felt good after qualifications.

Qualifications went not so good for me, was super consistent but extremely slow. Before last Q I changed my shock oils witch made the car faster but I was still too slow to win anything. I ended up 5th overall.

Finally in the semifinal I noticed that there was something very wrong with my car. Servo saver was too loose for this high grip fast track. It was probably a little loose all day, but now I really noticed it because grip went up, the car was hard to drive fast and it did some weird moves. Finished 3rd.

For the final I fixed the servo saver, put new Procircuit Hot Dices tires on, did some engine tuning and the car felt extremely good in the warm up. Now I knew I had a chance to win this thing. It was so good. In the final my mechanic changed the pitting strategy after first tank because the fuel tank was completely empty when I came for fuel, almost ran out of fuel. Fuel mileage on this track and in these conditions was very poor. I Started 6th for the final, drove consistently and fast to the lead and kept the lead to the end.

Thanks to JQ awesome setup tips, my new Losi 3.0 car was awesome and performed like a champ. Compared to the older 2.0 it has improved a lot in all areas especially the turning and ease of driving. I’m also very happy with my new Bullitt engine. It’s smooth and has awesome power. The new Procircuit tires also lasted much better than expected and where super easy to drive and fast, but hey they won the WC so what can you expect?”

Results:
Mylläri Petri Losi/Bullit/Procircuit

You know what you want and you don’t want to have to accept someone else’s choice or selection or worse still, pay for something that you don’t need. Now you don’t have to – you can choose to have it your way.

Whatever the reason, there’s never been a better excuse for you not to upgrade with the awesome Losi 5ive-T Roller with it’s all-wheel driven competition inspired driveline and race optimised suspension geometry.

Detail Features

4wd DrivetrainThe 5ive-T Roller will feature the same 4WD system that the current BND model. It is based on our successful 1/8-scale 8IGHT family of vehicles. The 5IVE-T chassis has been proven over and over again in races and extremely brutal bashing conditions.

Roller Assembly The 5ive-T Roller is preassembled and ready to for electronics and an engine. This allows for the selection of servos, radio equipment, gas engine and pipe to maximise the performance of the 5ive-T for anyone.

Extra Large-Bore ShocksThese large-bore threaded, aluminum shocks feature over-sized 7mm shock shafts designed to stand up to the punishment of 1/5-scale action. The threaded adjusters allow for fine-tuning while the extra high fluid volume allows for control over the roughest terrain.

Massive 5MM Aluminium ChassisThis is no ordinary chassis. It is based on the award winning, race-proven 8IGHT™ Platform. It has been designed to produce the best performance possible. The chassis plate is constructed of 5mm aircraft-grade aluminum and has been machined to save weight and add strength to provide extreme durability.

Two-Stage Air and Fuel Filter SystemsTo ensure a long engine life and proper care, the air and fuel systems are served by a two-stage filtering systems. The air must pass through two different foam filters designed to block as much dust and debris as possible while still maintaining proper flow.

Innovative Clutch Mount and HousingThe finned aluminum clutch mount adds strength and durability and provides unmatched heat dissipation for increased longevity of the 8,000 RPM clutch. Since it is enclosed, it prevents dirt and debris from entering and fouling the parts. The oversized bearings handle greater loads and are more reliable.

Multi-Piece Beadlock Off-Road WheelsThese monster wheels are true beadlock wheels with rings on both the inner and outer bead of the tire. With the amount of power the 5IVE-T produces and the sheer size of these tires, these wheels will provide a stable platform for the all-terrain tires. Many popular 1/5-scale tires will mount right on these beadlock wheels.

4WD Power Train with All Metal GearsThe 5IVE-T uses nothing but precision cut or formed, heat treated steel gears throughout the drive train. No plastic gears. These are the strongest and most durable type of gears available and expensive option items on other models.

Full Roll Cage Modeled After Full-Scale TrucksThe realistic cage provides added durability to the assembly absorbing impacts as well as a solid base for the modular body. The unique design allows the body and cage to be removed with only four screws and four body clips in seconds.

Four-piece bodyThe four-piece body individual panels to be replaced in the event that it becomes damaged so an entire body does not need to be purchased to get the vehicle back to the factory look. Clear panels allow you to create your own look or trim scheme.
